The City of San José Environmental Services Department’s (ESD) Recycle Right campaign’s main objective is to divert recycling contamination. One of the tactics is mailers.
We’ve observed that residents exhibit more participation in behavior change in the new year. In order to capitalize on the new year’s resolution momentum, we send this postcard to all San José residents and include broader call-to-actions for both single-family and multi-family home residents. Some of those include, emptying and scraping into the garbage prior to recycling and highlighting common recyclable items. On the back, we promoted the City’s no-cost junk pickup program, as people tend to clean out their homes for the upcoming year.
