In preparation for the end-of-the-year holidays, the City of San José Environmental Services Department (ESD) informs residents about changes to recycling and garbage collection during the holidays.
The postcard is typically winter themed and that was the case for 2025. For this year’s design, the calendar was the focal point. Residents can glance at the front and immediately glean that their collection date will not be on the holidays, but up to two days later. It makes for a perfect fridge reminder.
In addition to supporting the graphic design and mailing process, I managed the digital aspect of this mailer. The postcard covers three holidays as well as holiday tree collection information, so I created three social media posts from the Illustrator files from the graphic design vendor.
